PARKS & RECREATION BOARD VACANCY: If you would be interested in filling this vacancy, please contact the Township at 610-754-6436.

Attention all residents in the Verizon service area. In the near future, Verizon will begin offering their high speed internet services called FiOS. To prepare for this service, the Verizon contractors have begun placing buried utility lines throughout the community. You may have noticed colored lines painted by utility companies. The lines will be painted at various locations on the street and in the grass. This is necessary to locate existing utility lines in the area, as required by law, and is part of the normal construction process in Pennsylvania. The lines will fade in time. The work will be done in the Township's public rights of way. All of the work will be done by Verizon authorized contractors. A "door hanger" will be placed at your home or at a strategic location in your development. Please refer to the contractor phone number on the door hanger if you have any questions or concerns.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS:

NRC Emergency Preparedness Survey

As part of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's effort to review and improve emergency response programs, the agency intends to conduct a telephone survey to assess public reaction to existing and emerging protective action strategies, as well as the effectiveness of communication about these strategies. The 54-question survey will produce statistical descriptions of likely public reaction to-and acceptance of-various protective action strategies, such as sheltering-in-place and evacuation alternatives.

The NRC will survey randomly selected members of the public that reside within the 10-mile emergency planning zones around each plant site.Residents of Upper Frederick Township could possibly be called. The NRC will use the responses to enhance guidance for protective action recommendations and the means by which this information is disseminated.
